It will depend upon the individual in question of course, but there are many alternatives that you might wish to consider.

Whisky decanters may not be strictly necessary to enjoy whisky at its best - but they do make a very nice, and decorative, addition to a whisky lover's collection. Likewise, a nice, heavy crystal glass can be something that many whisky lover's would, quite literally, love to get their hands on.

Other options include whisky flasks, which are always useful for the whisky drinker on the go, and whisky chilling stones are becoming ever more popular with those who want their favorite tipple cooled - but not diluted.

If you're looking for a gift for a whisky lover, it's not really too difficult a task. A bottle of single malt will always be gratefully received. You'll be very popular (especially if you go for an 18 year old).

However, you might want to choose something a little different. Maybe you want something that will last a little longer, to mark a special occasion perhaps. Or maybe you want something different just because you always seem to give them a bottle of whisky.

Whatever the reason, there are plenty of alternative gift options for the whisky lover in your life. There's something to suit all budgets and all personal tastes. In fact, you're spoiled for choice.

Speaking as a whisky lover myself, I feel qualified to judge what is a useful, and welcome, gift for someone who likes whisky. So that's just what I'm going to do.
